Rodan's Roost

Description: Freed from a tomb of ice by an atomic bomb, Gamera the Super Turtle immediately headed to Japan to start his righteous rampage. He consumes fire (and coal, magma, oil, and uranium), so he spits fireballs to set things on fire and then eat them. He was unharmed by military weapons, so he was launched into space on a rocket, only to come back later since he can fly. Humans are so silly!

Initially, Gamera is forced to attack civilization via an alien mind control device, but the humans disable it, freeing him to defeat Viras by taking it into the upper atmosphere and freezing it, then dropping the thing into the ocean. This reveals that Gamera's vulnerability to cold diminishes the farther he is from Earth, or maybe he was just having a fantastic day.

*Official weight is 80 to 1,200 tons; however, this low mass would mean Gamera is less dense than Styrofoam. Weight has been adjusted to standard turtle density using the Square Cube Law.
