Description: The first Rodan seen in modern times were a mated pair, it is assumed all Rodan encountered since are their progeny. Their favorite food are Meganulon, which they will eat over all other things. Once they run out of Meganulon, people are the next choice on the menu. The first Rodan could cause hurricane-force winds from their wings, and they could also breathe a focused air blast. Natural weapons include a sharp beak and an armored chest lined with horned spikes.

Description: Eight years later, another Rodan was seen having a friendly scrap with Godzilla in Japan. A small larval Mothra pleads with them to stop their brawl and join her in fighting the real threat, King Ghidorah, but they refuse. The little larva then bravely battles the evil Space Hydra all by herself until Godzilla and Rodan finally have a change of heart. Together, all three monsters were able to defeat King Ghidorah, and sent the monster back into space where he came from.

Description: An army of Earth's monsters were enslaved by the Kilaak aliens, including Rodan. Humans destroyed their lunar control base, freeing the daikaiju (giant monsters) from Kilaak control. Rodan and friends then dog piled on poor old King Ghidorah, pounding the Hydra into the ground without mercy. He was just following orders, cut Ghidorah some slack!

He was subdued by Godzilla while defending Godzilla Junior's unhatched egg, but was able to rejuvenate and become the red Fire Rodan later to assist Godzilla against Super Mechagodzilla. Fire Rodan was defeated by the mighty mecha, but imparted his life energy to Godzilla before passing, insuring victory for The King of the Monsters.
